Award-Winning McAfee Protection Made Better

Knowing online users list identity theft listed as their top concern today, McAfee rebuilt its security products to address this growing fear. For example, McAfee Internet Security Suite includes new anti-Phishing detection, an anti-hacker Stealth Mode and anti-spyware tools like SiteAdvisorâ„¢ safe surfing, which all work together as a single security shield.

Easy file back-up is important, too, as PC users build larger libraries of digital photos, music downloads and important records that can be lost to hackers, system failure and other catastrophes. So McAfee added file back-up and restore to PC Protection Plus, Internet Security Suite and Total Protection. The latter adds protection against “drive-by hijackers and freeloaders” for wireless home networks.

Of course there are scores of other security improvements and upgrades across the board. This is just a taste:

• Up to 40% faster virus scanning and smaller virus definition updates help block more than 200,000 known threats with less interruption to computing.
• More accurate detection of spam, email fraud and credit card Phishing helps keep personal information away from attacking identity thieves.
• SystemGuards monitoring and X-Ray for Windows help protect against secret identity theft attacks by menaces like rootkits deep inside the operating system.
• Safer Parental Controls keep families protected online. For example, new Image Analyzer helps mask offensive Web images before they download.

Another McAfee hallmark—always-on and always-up-to-date protection—remains a constant. After all, McAfee pioneered the concept of “security as a service” long before other security vendors saw the light and jumped on the bandwagon.
